I down-graded from my F-350 quad cab long bed to this truck, mostly because of gas mileage. My old truck was just too expensive to drive, especially since it's 2 1/2 hours to go to the nearest town of much size (which I do about every 6 weeks).
We chose this truck for the following reasons.
1. seats 6 with 4 full doors
2. compact size but with the convenience of a truck bed and 4-wheel drive.
3. Good gas milage
4. Features like XM, auto everything, dual climate control (left/right),rear window defroster, flip down cup holder in the back seat in the middle, CD and cassette players, controls on steering wheel, lift up storage under rear seat, split bench front seat...
After having it for 6 months, I like this truck very much still. It runs very smoothly. I frequently drive it 300 miles round-trip to town. I have also taken it on 2 long trips of over 2400 miles each.
I get about 17-18 mpg on the freeway and a meager 10-12 mpg in town. I can haul lots in it, inside and out. It's not the same as my long bed, but it still can pack quite a bit away. I like all the info accessable from the dash read-out, which I guess is standard on most newer vehicles.
Now for the cons.
1. 4-wheel drive sensor is going bad. I have been told by my local chevy dealership service department that this is a common occurance. On several occasions, my 4 wheel drive has self engaged and wouldn't shut off until I shut off the truck. I am told that this is about $500 fix.
2. There is a rattle in the trim by the front window. I'm not quite sure what it is, but it's only mildly annoying.
3. small bed compared to what I had.
4. not great milage in town
Overall, I love my truck. It goes hunting with my husband. It goes camping, road-tripping, and on daily errands. I would buy this again. Only thing I would have added is the on-star that was an upgrade for this truck.
