Author's Review
I purchased this 2005 RSX new, not knowing that it would be the last of its breed. Having owned four of them (from 1989 thru 1996 Integras), and driving the last one for 157,000 miles with only routine repair and maintenance, I felt this was the only car to have! Unfortunately, the Acura/Honda folks didn't agree with me, so they are no more.
All my previous Integras were standard transmission, but through thoroughly logical prodding by the librarian I share my life with, I bought this one with an automatic. It happens to be an "automanual", however, so it can be driven like a manual without the pesky intrusion of a clutch. I feel this car is the performance equal or better of the previous manuals that I've owned, and she can drive it if necessary.
This car is more than I expected it to be: it still gives me about 28 mpg; it's more comfortable riding (it's roomier); it has acceptable sporting performance, and gets a lot of compliments from strangers. I think it's very unfortunate that the RSX is no longer available as a new model (Acura wants you to look at their TSX as entry-level, but being about $7000 more expensive, you won't see me in their showrooms again). In good shape, they make an excellent used car.
