Acura RSX-- What's all this hype-S about anyway?

by   shoplmart , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  May 26, 2005
Pros: Engine, Seats, Appearance, 6-speed manual,
Cons: How about 50 more horsepower and a 9,000 RPM redline :p
The Bottom Line: The RSX is a refined sports coupe that is recommended to anyone looking for an affordable combination of luxury, style, and performance.
Review: When Acura introduced its 3rd generation Integra, I was not convinced that it was worthy of its high sticker price, especially in its performance trim levels. Cars like the Integra Type-R and the GSR were quick and very fun to drive, but only offered a ...

Top choice for coupe below 30 K - awesome interior, handling and rpm!

by   karthiklax ,  Dec 12, 2004
Pros: 210hp short shift 6 spd. nice interior build w/good number of features on base
Cons: high insurance cost. Exterior has a CIVIC (traditional) look despite changes. Minor quirks in interior
The Bottom Line: Definitely well worth the money if a coupe below 30 K is your target. Excellent driver oriented interior, amazing handling and good (not great) exterior looks.
Review: I have had the 2005 Acura RSX S-Type Magnesium metallic with titanium interior for a little over a year now. About me: I am a car enthusiast and wouldn't dream of buying a car other than a stick shift. Had a '99 Toyota Corolla stick previously ...

Is the RSX All That it's Made Out to Be?

by   the_stig ,  Oct 25, 2005
Pros: Reliability, Safety, Performance, Cost-Effectiveness, Handling, Gorgeous Looks, Easy Modification, Practicality.
Cons: Too common, could use more torque, some prefer the 02-04 styling.
The Bottom Line: If you need to buy a new car and enjoy a great blend of sportiness, comfort, and practicality, I strongly recommend test-driving this gem of a car.
Review: In one word, the answer to this question is yes. It's great in so many ways that not many cars in its class -- not even cars that cost nearly twice as much -- can truly match it. NOTE: This review applies to both the 2005 and the 2006 models, which ...

is the 2005 better then the 02-04?

by   snoboarder ,  Dec 6, 2004
Pros: sleek, more power, bigger rims
Cons: maintenance might be expensive due to it being an import
The Bottom Line: The acura RSX type-s can be good for almost anyone, but i would not recommend it for a primary family car.
Review: Ive had my 2005 Rsx Type-s for 3 months now. Im loving it. The gears are smooth and the power is there when needed. The redesigned front end, tail lights, headlights, and minor changes to the interior are subtle, yet suites my taste. I think the 2005 ...

A year later, still a wonderful car

by   ninti ,  May 11, 2006
Pros: A blast. Problem free after a year, quick and fun to drive.
Cons: Has started squeaking a bit. Getting an automatic means alot less power.
The Bottom Line: Great car. Avoid the automatic unless you really need it.
Review: I bought this car over a year ago and it is still a great car. My previous car was a Honda and my experience has been that Honda/Acura is as reliable as it gets. It's super cute, pretty cheap, and moderately powerful. I compared it against a lot of other ...

Acura RSX - How we loved you!

by   genedelorenzo ,  Jan 26, 2008
Pros: Sporty performance; good gas mileage; anvil build quality; relatively inexpensive
Cons: no longer made
The Bottom Line: Super car, killed in it's prime
Review: I purchased this 2005 RSX new, not knowing that it would be the last of its breed. Having owned four of them (from 1989 thru 1996 Integras), and driving the last one for 157,000 miles with only routine repair and maintenance, I felt this was the only ...

Pros: it's taught throaty and loves to be tossed around. on center feel. poor man's nsx

by   lumpulus ,  Feb 4, 2005
Pros: More power than the previous RSX Redesigned Front and Rear Fascias 17 Inch wheels
Cons: Wimpy horn Horrible Michelin OEM tires.
Review: I've owned 2 Hondas and 5 Acuras, and have NEVER had a problem with any of them. My 2005 RSX Type S is my 5th "Integra", having owned: 1989 Integra LS 1995 Interga GSR 1998 Integra GSR 2002 RSX Type S 2005 RSX Type S I've had no unscheduled ...

The 2005 Acura RSX Premium

by   mycouponz ,  Dec 13, 2004
Pros: Fun,sporty engine. Sexy exterior
Cons: Dash layout could be better. No full size spare. Hefty pricetag.
The Bottom Line: =====================================================
Review: First things first : this car has style. The car's lines are sleek and very sporty. The interior is nice, clean and well laid out. The engine is refined, and something that you can really have fun with, no matter which RSX engine you choose. Needless ...

Nice car if you can afford it

by   brandy681 ,  Oct 13, 2005
Pros: nice interior/exterior, good design, good reliability and super sporty
Cons: very expensive insurance/maintenance
The Bottom Line: It is a good car if you can keep up with the payments and high insurance on it.
Review: I own this car and I love the interior, the design is sleek and the quality is very good. The engine is very quiet and this car is very fun to drive. I have the regular rsx not the type s, but I love the exterior and interior design it is really a good ...
