Author's Review
Rupee has been singing and displaying his talent for the music industry ever since he was in high school. One of his first ever singles was entitled "Jump", which is featured in this album, ever since that hit song Rupee has produced some of the greatest songs to come from the Caribbean for the past half decade.
This album, One on One, is Rupee's first internationally released soca album, and its pretty good. This album incorporates a great variety of music, ranging from dance tunes to sweet, melodic love songs. the album also dislays Rupee's immense talents for writing and singing music.

The first song on the album, "Tempted To Touch" is probably Rupee's most recognized song. Ever since its release a couple years ago this song has gained Rupee international acclaim. This song is great for all times, but is best essentially for quixotic occasions. Personally this was my favorite song on the cd. The album also included a special "Tempted to Touch Remix", which is a great compliment to the original hit.
Track 11, which is "What Happens in de Party", has been one of the better dance songs that have come out of the Caribbean for many years. This songs intertwines a great melody, entranced with great, and at some points humorous lyrics. Along with "Do the Damn Thing", "What Happens in the Party" will fill you up with spirit and will energize you.
The rest of the tracks are all pretty good, especially one on one, which the cd is coincidentally named after. Many of the tracks on this album have been on soca top music lists, including "Jump", "Tempted to Touch", "Helpless", "1 on 1", "If I Can't", and "What Happens in the Party". Overall this album is full of hit songs.
Even though Rupee is still unknown in the mainstream music industry, he is still perhaps one of the most talented artists of this generation, which is proven by the songs he has amassed for this album.
I bought this album while on my vacation in Trinidad a couple years ago. Before purchasing this album i was unaware of soca music. Ever since purchasing this cd i have gained a great love for this type of music. This album will certainly make you appreciate what good music really is.
