THREE YEARS IN THE LIVES OF THE FAB FOUR

by   mike.holmes , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Mar 17, 2001
Pros: Great music from great composers and performers speaks for their generation
Cons: A very few clunkers
The Bottom Line: The Beatles spoke not only for their generation but for all generations. Their musical abilities including performing, composing and arranging a tremendous array of music.
Review: The Beatles! I was a 16 year old high school student in West Texas when the Beatle Invasion reached its first peak on the Ed Sullivan Show. Ol' Ed had seen numerous big
time performers sing or play to a screaming audience but I don't believe he...

From Pepper to Let It Be, Blue Album charts Beatles' last years......

by   alexdg1 ,  Apr 14, 2005
Pros: 28 classic tracks by the Fab Four
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: 28 classic Beatles tunes...what more can any serious music lover want? This compilation album definitely rocks!
Review: Although my taste in music tends to go more toward the classical end of the spectrum, I do like a little bit of everything. Oh, all right, there are genres, such as hip-hop and anything that smacks of disco), that I don't like, but I do like some ...

A collection of complex and fantastic songs

by   HawgWyld ,  Jun 3, 2001
Pros: Nothing less than some of the best stuff from the Beatles.
Cons: Good introduction to the band, but lacks a bit in depth.
The Bottom Line: Good "sampler" album with some of the better-known songs from the last three years of the band's career.
Review: Here we have another compilation of some of the best work from the Beatles. This two-disc set is the companion of another collection that covers the Beatles from 1962-1966. This one reveals the band in it's shaggier days from 1967-1970, and contains a...

The Beatles 1967-1970 (Blue Album): Take a look through the Glass Onion

by   andaryl ,  Jun 8, 2001
Pros: Probably the best collection of Beatles psychedelia and innovation
Cons: 5 or 6 good tracks missing
The Bottom Line: If you want a starter in Beatles music, this is the best point. The songs cover their most innovative era, many of which did not make the "One" album.
Review: What’s this? I haven’t written anything but beer reviews for some time, you may have noticed. I wrote a few music and movie reviews in my early days of epinions, but I think you’d have to go back to December and before to find them.

So why am...

Genius of a Foursome

by   bobbo428 ,  Oct 9, 2000
Pros: 80 percent of the songs are superb
Cons: a few weak tracks from the later years
Review:

Today would have been John Lennon's 60th birthday, so I decided to commemorate this event (and my 50th epinion) with a review of this incredible Beatles compilation. So many superlatives have been written about this band--younger listeners...

One of the best

by   Ressey ,  Jan 20, 2000
Pros: great music, lots of hits and more
Cons: none
Review: It took me several years to get the Blue Album but it was worth the wait. This is one of the best compilation CDs and ranks high among my favorites. Any Beatles fan would appreciate this album.

The first CD starts off with Strawberry Fields...

The Songs Have More Upbeat!

by   kuiipo ,  Nov 5, 2001
Pros: This blue album is even hotter!!!
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: This is even hotter! It is available at most record stores!
Review: This is another album that I truly love. My sister owns this album and I enjoy listening to these songs. My favorite songs are "Magical Mystery Tour," "Hello, Goodbye," "Revolution," and "Octopus' Garden."

I can recall listening to...

For You Blue

by   BetsyBiskt ,  Jan 30, 2000
Pros: Not one bad track on this album
Cons: Not enough room for other great tracks from that era.
Review: Unquestionably, the Beatles most creative period. The post Sgt Pepper psychedelic era brought new experimental works for the Beatles. They had grown tired of touring at this point, and were looking forward to dedicate their work in the studio....

Review: The merseysides,s own entertainments paper, mersey beat.
Vol.No.13 January 4-18, 1962 as I read the cover of this
album. The beatles featuring Tony Sheridan. Well is this a
some kind of a joke to me well after listing to it and playing I...

Great Music!

by   brianrouth ,  Aug 27, 2001
Pros: The music on disc 1 shaped the music to come!
Cons: The music on disc 2 reflects the rocky road!
The Bottom Line: Get it! It will take you through feelings of the rainbow.
Review: The music on this 2 disc set reflects the Beatles at different times of their musical life. The first disc brings us back to a time when the youth of the world were spreading love, peace and spiritual longing. It reflects the magic of the search for who...
