18 means life. And that it is!

Pros: Combines Moby's cherished ambient poetry and his successful street beats
Cons: Might force you to dance, think, jump, cry, and miss everyone you love.
The Bottom Line: Combines ambient poetry with swift beats, leaving listeners not only grooving, but actually swimming in world created by powerful vocals and chords that dig deep inside the soul.
Review: 18 is a mystical number. Not only does it represent the number of tracks on this equally mystical album, it represents conspiracy jargon about Roswell aliens. More importantly, its also the numerical value of the word LIFE in Hebrew. If ...

Pros: Absolutely pulls you into the music.
The essay he writes is intriguing.
Cons: Most of the songs sound the same.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend it for anyone in need of a stress relief. It helps you realize what life is really all about.
Review: The man is truly talented and knows how to put sound together, even more so in this album than in his last one, "Moby Play." Surprisingly, just about every song on it flows well and keeps you playing it over and over again. Though most of the tracks...

Pros: Some really beautiful tunes; some cool standout tracks
Cons: A lot of the album blends together.
The Bottom Line: Moby's followup to Play might not be as big, but 18 is a very smooth effort nonetheless.
Review: I never know what to expect from Moby anymore. The first album I got from him was Animal Rights, which was half beautiful piano and half loud, screaming rock. Its one of my favorite albums, but I quickly learned that it was not traditional M ...

18 -- Boring title, but not a boring album

Pros: Great flow to the album
Cons: No standout 'single'-type tracks
The Bottom Line: If you are going to buy one Moby album, buy Play. If you are a fan of this genre of music, buy 18 also.
Review: I've always been a fan of Moby, but I became a more enthusiastic one after Play. That said, I prefer to let this album be judged on its own merit rather than comparing it to Moby's earlier work.
In a way, Moby has become a victim of... |

Pros: Some great tunes.
Cons: Not sure yet...
The Bottom Line: First timers, GIVE HIS ALBUM TRY!!!!! Those who are already familiar with Moby, GIVE THIS ALBUM A TRY!!!!
Review: Because ..."My heart is full, my heart is wide..."
Moby. Let me see what can I say about him... Well first off, I have heard some of Mody's songs in the past. I really have never given Moby a fair listening. Sure I heard that song that... |

Pros: If you like "Play", you'll like "18"
Cons: If you like "Play", you'll like "18"
The Bottom Line: It's good for any activity. Puts you in a cool mood. I like it ;)
Review: Let's face it, if Moby's new CD, Play, could be any more than its precursor, 18
oh wait, I mean if Moby's new CD, 18, could be any more than its precursor, Play, actually, no that's not possible. Which I think is a good think. 18... |

NY's Greatest DJ

Pros: More Moby w/new elements
Cons: Only 15 full songs, not 18
The Bottom Line: Overall, obviously the album doesn't break much new ground, as 'Play' did, but it still is the work of NY's greatest DJ.
Review: Another 18 tracks put together by pop-superstar Moby in this, his newest production. This album gives the listener plenty of material to choose from. It might be questioned how original he has been this time around, when the norm of his previous works...

Pros: The new prog rock, evolution in music.
Cons: Lacks the uniqueness that moby tries to develope.
The Bottom Line: Fed up with the lack of true "alternative" music? Feel the need to branch out in your musical tastes? Try this album, but dont expect to be dazzled to much.
Review: In this barron corner of pre 90's music we can only look back on the infinitely more interesting genres that shaped the music of today. This new release by moby, however, although not quite as gutsy as I had hoped, does boast some interesting concepts...

Newest Evolution Leaves This Fan Hungry

Pros: Opening track is awesome. Various vocalists gives album texture.
Cons: Slow paced. Doesn't "feel" like a Moby album
The Bottom Line: Not Moby's best album.
Review: A friend of mine described this album as "evolutionary." If that is true, he's gone and evolved himself out of what made him a genius for our time. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate this album...but it doesn't have the same passion and feel that I've come...

Pros: Great relaxation/homework music, CD blends well together
Cons: Won't really get you pumped up, seems to be a common theme in his music
The Bottom Line: In general: A good album filled with great songs to relax to.
Review: Personally, I've been looking forward to this release ever since I bought Play. I was so intrigued by Moby's music, that I became an instant fan. I went to see him at the Area 1 tour, where he totally blew me away. So, I couldn't wait to buy this album....
