Hands Down the best I've installed.

Let me tell you No other modem stands close to the 3Com/USR 56K modems. Their Sportster line of modems has been my choice out of all the modems I've sold. I've sold and installed modems from all top name brands for years and 3Com/USR is by far the most compatible, reliable, overall fastest and easiest to install of any brand. For my home system I only use the best hardware because I can. I wouldn’t put anything but a 3Com/USR Sportster in my P.C. The others claim to be the best but 3Com proves it.

I have replaced many of my customer’s modems for various reasons such as too slow, would hang up frequently, or when they would put it in the system would just not see it at all. And these were brand new modems from "The other Guys". 56K v.90 and they were junk. They were what you see as “great deals”. You may save some cash by getting that generic or other brand modem. But in the long run the money you save and the headaches you avoid make the extra cost of a 3Com/USR well worth it.
People would bring me their 30-dollar modem they got at a great deal. After they pull their hair out trying to get the damn thing to work. 60 dollars more and it's installed. Then in 6 months when it’s acting up they have to get a new one. And do it all over again.
I've had the same 3Com 56K internal for the last 2 years. And I have not had any problems with it. Installation was a breeze and it has worked like a charm ever since. I bought another modem for another system I was building for myself. I thought Id try something different and got a Diamond Supra 56K. Another very popular "Top of the line 56K modem". I have never had more problems with a simple modem in my life. I went thru 5 diffrent modems before I finally got one that worked semi decent. Still I would never connect as fast or as reliably as my already 1 year old 3Com. Finally I gave up and bought another 3Com/USR 56K.
When they say there the best no one stands up to say otherwise.
