WWE Day of Reckoning for GameCube

Product Review

Finally!!

by   dumptruck ,   Oct 11, 2004

Pros:  Graphics, music, story mode.

Cons:  Well....there is a lapse in intelligence in the tag and ladder matches.

The Bottom Line:  This is what a wresting game should be. Some A.I. hangups and a slim roster can't kill this game, because it's not alive! (that's a joke) It's a great game.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

WWE Day of Reckoning for GameCube is an awesome title. Graphics, music (Anthrax is on here!!) and a decent story mode makes me wonder why the frick didn't they do this for the first two Wrestlemanias for "The Cube".
We all know the typical: exhibition and blah blah blah. The big news is the story mode, and a good one to boot. Twists and turns are commonplace and often hilarious. Paul Heyman, Bischoff, The Coach and Vince himself appear in the story. I like it. However, there are some question marks. I notice in the tag and ladder matches, there is a lapse in intelligence, often at MY expense. In cage matches; whoa! Problem time is here. Why do you have to tap the A button repeatedly to get out the cage after you pummel your opponent?! How is it that no matter how bad you beat your opponent they magically get up in time to stop you from getting out the cage?! Another thing, why not have a tournament for the belt of your choice in exhibition? Why is it that when your created player has more than 250 attribute points, he can't be used in the story? Why can't a female wrestler be used in the story mode? The computer counters a lot. Be that as it may, this game outclasses the last WWE game on "The Cube". Other than those minor annoyances, this could and should be "The Cube's" version of Smackdown. Another thing, let's have a user profile to keep track of our wins.
