God of War? More like god of Blood.

The Bottom Line: A real disapointment overall.
This is really a beautiful game. But it is also a button masher. I can see that its lineage as being those button mashers from the arcades. I could see this game racking up the quarters because though at times it is very forgiving there are other times where it is TOTALLY unforgiving. I do have some complaints about this game though. It is VERY bloody. And though this can be a nice artistic element it gets old after a while. Also it gets monotonous. Slash the monster... slash the monster, slash the monster... use the combo, use the combo, use the combo... it plays much like a street fighter game. Also while the graphics give the illusion that you can go anywhere in the game when the game is actually VERY structured. I like games that give you hints where you go next and sometimes I do like structured games but I hate those that give the illusion of this being a huge world to explore when in reality you can only go where the creator wanted you to go. All in all the game is good for stress relief but as for me ever finishing it I really do not see it. The game is just too repetitive and too much button mashing. The graphics are wonderful but graphics alone do not make a game great.
