Not as good as the PC game but good for a console
Pros:
Intense action, incredible sound, pretty good graphics, made by MoH team, online play
Cons:
not as ground-breaking as PC game, noonline matchmaking, nooffline multiplayer, PC is better for FPSes
The Bottom Line:
Call of Duty was innovative on the PC, on the console its above average. A good game for online play and single-player, at least worth a rental.

Author's Review
Call of Duty: Finest Hour (CoD: FH) is not a port/remake as the PC version, its a whole new game. It was made by the same people that made Medal of Honor (they made all of them up to Frontline) and the Medal of Honor series was great. Frontline is one of my favorite WWII shooters. The problem is that was 2 or 3 years ago. Now people expect more, which is what Call of Duty delivers... for the most part.
Single player: The single player game of CoD: FH is some what like that of Medal of Honor: Fronline. There is clips from the war and theres some story behind the people you play. The problem is that it doesnt matter who oyu play. After evey level you hear about a story of a person that you are playing, which is good but it doesnt do much for the game. You can play as the Americans, Russians, and British like in the PC game. Another problem is the vehicle controls, i jus tdont like them. They arent bad, but compared to the PC game, the controls are just a let down. Now let me stop focusing on the negatives and start on the postives. For one, its one of the best cosole shooters out this year. Theres a good variety of guns, but not as much variety as the PC game. The levels are very creative and the intensity never stops. You can go from shooting from a tank at one point to gunning down nazis in a building. I dont have much more to say, because I havene't finished the single-player game yet, but I'll try to update this as soon as I do.
Multiplayer: This was some what of a let down for me. I played the PC game and I loved how it was. My favorite mode on the PC version was Headquarters (where you try to capture a radio and hold/guard it as long as you can, so the other team doesnt destroy it). But Headquarters wasnt in the console version. This was a missed opritunity and a big dippapointment in my opinion. Multiplayer is still fun though. The different modes are Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Search and Destroy. It supports 16 players online and there is voice chat. And there is NO MULTIPLAYER OFFLINE, which is really a bad idea, especially when you have a pretty good online mode. But online there are pretty big maps (i dont know how much exaxctly) and you can play as the germans, americans, russian, and british. But once again their missing weapons that were in the PC game. Just like the PC version, you can pick your own name and change all you want. But PC online games are different then console games, consoles usually have buddy list at the least, CoD: FH doesnt even have this. It is being like the PC game to much in my opinion (on the multiplayer part). In PC games you have a lot of people online and you dont really need buddy lists, while on console games theres far less players and people like to have match making features. But overall the multiplayer is pretty good. Its sure to keep you busy for some time and provide some fun.
Graphics: The graphics on CoD: FH are pretty good. The almost beat the PC version on graphics, but the PC game wasnt really known for its graphics. They are some of the best on the PS2 and it beats the Medal of Honor games easily.
Sound: Just like the Medal of Honor games, the sound in CoD: FH is incredible. It gives you an immersive experience. The voice acting is pretty good and the accents are well done. The music is just unbelivable, it keeps you paying attention and with all the gunshots going off this is one loud game.
Gameplay/Controls: Lets face it, if you've played a FPS (First Person Shooter) on the PC, its hard to go back to console FPSes. For a console FPS, it has pretty good controls and gameplay. Its hard to beat the ol' keyboard and mouse, but CoD: FH does an okay job. Theres some controls that arent there that were in the PC game and the expansion pack and it lacks a custom control option. But there are different controls to choose one but I recommend the default. Its basic console FPS controls but with some different placement for certain controls (like zooming in and melee attacks). Since consoles cant really have mods (modifications) for their games the PC version has a lot more different things that you can do with it.
Summary: The PC version was ground-breaking, the console version is just an above average WWII FPS. If youve never tried a Call of Duty game, I suggest you get it, you'll have fun. If you like to play games online then this one is at least worth a rental. FPSes come out very often (especially the WWII ones), but this one is worth a look.
