In the winter of 2002, Stupid White Men took America -- and the world -- by storm. Tired and skeptical of George W. Bush's high approval ating, frightened by the implications of the Enron scandal -- and generally just looking for a voice of honest dissent in the thick atmosphere of jingoism that followed 9/11 -- book buyers from coast to coast swiftly embraced Michael Moore's in-your-face anti-Bush-era manifesto, making it one of the bestselling nonfiction books of the year.
With an unerring eye for greed, hypocrisy, and corruption, Michael Moore takes on the whole ugly mess of America at the dawn of the twenty-first century. Whether he's demanding U.N. action to overthrow the Bush Family Junta or calling on African Americans to place whites only signs over the entrances of unfriendly businesses, Stupid White Men is a pitch-perfect skewering of our culture of Malfeasance and Mediocrity. Re-Awakening My Righteous (If Misplaced) Indignation

by JediKermit , top reviewer in Books at Epinions.com , Jul 3, 2002
Pros: Moore moves from Big Business to Politics...and it gets MESSY
Cons: Seems to be telling one side of the story
The Bottom Line: Kermit's not the only one who's a bit GREEN...
Review: As prologue to my first review in SIX weeks, let me just say that living with a ten-week old baby is the best, most wonderful, most rewarding experience I've ever had. We love Miles so much, and he's healthy, happy, and perfect. But he sucks up the...

..In the Midnight Hour, She Cried "Moore, Moore, Moore!"

by fugedaboudit , Mar 9, 2002
Pros: Scathing Wit, Biting Satire, Amazing breadth of facts, and a chewy caramel center!
Cons: Those on the Right afraid of confrontational criticism and brutal dissent, beware!
The Bottom Line: It'll enrage, enthrall, and make you bust a gut simultaneously. Some Die-Hard Conservatives and Wimpy Democrats will hate it- It's for open minded citizens dedicated to true change
Review: This amazing book is a satire about life, politics, and race in America, plain and simple. If you enjoy skewering sacred cows and controversial topics, especially if the subjects are supposed to be “taboo” because we in America are supposed to be...
