Product Description

For the devoted viewers of THE X-FILES, there can be few things more exciting than hearing the familiar notes of Mark Snow's theme song at the beginning of THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE. This cinematic follow-up to the series picks up years after it ended, but the characters are still the same ones that audiences loved. Fans who followed the show religiously (and was there any other way to watch it?) won't be surprised to learn that Mulder (David Duchovny) is currently living in hiding, still researching the paranormal while he grows a shaggy beard. Meanwhile, Scully (Gillian Anderson) is working as a doctor at a Catholic hospital. When an F.B.I. agent goes missing, the bureau calls on the pair to return to their old work. The paranormal element of their case is found in Father Joe (Billy Connolly), a former priest who is having psychic visions and leading the team from the F.B.I. to evidence to help them solve their case. Mulder and Scully return to their roles of believer and skeptic as they join in t...

Mulder and Scully Getting It On is Not Enough to Believe In

Date of Review:  May 20, 2009
The Bottom Line: Only hardcore fans can enjoy and defend this rushed, mediocre product.
Review: It's not so much surprisingly that The X-Files: I Want to Believe is a lousy movie as it is incredibly disappointing. After six years away from television, during which the lead actors have gone on to play wildly different characters from their Fox...

"I Want to Believe" Reminded me of all the reasons I watched "The X-Files"

Date of Review:  Feb 12, 2009
The Bottom Line: If you were a fan of the Mulder/Scully seasons of X-Files you'll like "I Want to Believe."
Review: Last weekend we rented the latest X-Files movie, I Want to Believe. The 2008 production didn t do that well at the box office, but I wanted to see it anyway. The movie features original series stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, and was...

Assistant Director Walter Skinner: I know Mulder. He'd get to a phone and call first. He wouldn't do anything crazy.

The X-Files
1/5 stars
A poor film Pros: The supernatural themes Cons: Acting, Plot, Effects
03:23
The movie feels like the X-Files show but nothing we haven't seen before in other creepy movies.
3/5 stars
I felt the movie was almost lacking in originality because with The X-Files, I expect them to take their genre of conspiracy theories and aliens and give it their own creepy feel like the show used to be but with this one it feels like the plot and story were rushed just to make a second movie with no continuation of what made the series so admiring. Pros: I like that their still trying to make The X-Files, Creepy/disturbing at points which reminds me of the classic show, The two lead characters acting was flawless Cons: I wanted a continuation of the series and not a stand alone movie, Make the story/movie longer. Don't rush a movie into an hour and a half, Reward the fans by providing more backdrops to the series
