Review: I haven't read as many of the classics as I should, I suppose. I read and enjoy Jane Austen, but I've yet to crack open any works by Dickens, Trollope, the Brontes, and I don't remember a single thing about George Eliot's Middlemarch... But I picked...

The Bottom Line: I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys 18th century literature and wants to understand more about the time.
Review: This is a nice, well written overview of some of the cultural idiosyncracies of 18th century England. It covers most of the essential subjects such as currency, inheritance laws and customs and the different sorts of horse drawn carriage.
