Review: Being the first review I've written for Epinions, I thought "What was the BEST book I read in 1999?" One second later, the answer: Wait Till Next Year.

This book is Doris Kearns Goodwins' memoir of growing up Catholic, In Brooklyn, during...

Poignant nostalgia

Date of Review:  Jan 7, 2000
Review: There are few better interview subjects out there than Doris Kearns Goodwin, who has written books on Lyndon Johnson, the Kennedys and the Roosevelts. Whenever I've seen her interviewed about her books, she always has an interesting take on the...

Professional Reviews

New York Times Book Review: "In a season awash in X-rated memoirs, 'Wait Till Next Year' is an anomaly: a reminiscence that is suitable, in fact ideal, for a preadolescent readership of not just girls but boys, too....For self-esteem-building female role models, for baseball lore and inning-by-inning action and for a lively trip into the recent American past, you could hardly do better."
