The Bottom Line: Cars mainly exist to drive, to sit in, to use the backseats of, and to overheat our choking planet. The GTI's strengths are the first three. Yay!
Review: (Although the writing on this essay is mine, the experience and enthusiasm are those of my wife Cindy, and what research we've done has been a combined effort. To the minimal degree that I ever like cars, I definitely like the GTI.)

The Bottom Line: A nice car for a 19-yr old who wants a feel for speed, but is grounded to the road by speed limits.
Review: My brother has recently acquired a 2003 VW GTI GLS. This model provides very spiffy acceleration, good interior space and layout, and good looks; all for a reasonable price. And with a little research, one can get the GTI for just $400 over invoice...
