Product Description

 
The 1997 GTI is available in two models - GTI and GTI-VR6. Two new exterior paint colors are available, Memory Red and Windsor Blue. GTI has refined its four-cylinder 2.0L engine by adding a modified intake cross flow cylinder head which makes for a smoother ride and and a quieter running engine. The center high mounted stop lamp was moved from the rear spoiler to the rear window. In addition to some of the other standard features like daytime running lights and anti-lock brakes, the GTI has added open door warning reflectors for all models. The VR6 GTI has a revised suspension system with tighter springs and shocks absorbers. The front end was lowered by 10mm for better reponsiveness. The Bottom Line: As a commuter car, it's hard to beat. It also has fun factor, room for adults or three kids in the back. Sporty style.

'97 VW Golf K2- love it

The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this car- it's a great commuter, and makes a great tuner as well (tons of aftermarket goodies available). Fun to drive, great in the turns.
