The Bottom Line: I recommend Nyquil to anyone struggling to sleep because of cold or flu symptoms. For the daytime, I suggest looking for something more effective.

The Bottom Line: This works for some parts of flu like illnesses, but isn't completely effective against pain. It will knock you out though.

Great for relieving cough, sore throat, minor aches and pains, runny nose and sneezing, headache and fever.

Nyquil suppresses your cough so you can sleep at night.

No one can sleep when they are congested, and have to cough every few minutes. That's why I chose Vicks Nyquil to relieve my symptoms, so I could get some rest during the night. Not to mention, I was keeping my husband awake too. The directions say to take a dose every 6 hours, and I'd say it was more like 5 hours for me. But it DID work during those 5 hours. I just needed it more often. It certainly isn't going to cure anything, but it's a good way to manage your symptoms until you get well. Pros: It works, It's a liquid so it's easy to take., Squelches the coughing so you can sleep. Cons: The measuring dosing cup is labled in milliliters.
