Product Description

 
The Tacoma pickup truck is manufactured in Fremont, Ca., with a redesigned front bumper and grille. A new standard passenger side air bag (on all models) and an optional tire upgrade on the regular 2WD model are some changes on the Tacoma. Also new on the Base model is an optional Value Edition Plus Package which comes equipped with power steering, audio system and many color-keyed exterior features. No longer available is the 3.4L V6 engine on the 4WD regular model. On the Xtra Cab models the flip-out rear quarter windows and height-adjustable front headrests are standard features. The 1997 SR5 Tacoma has been rebadged to the Limited for 1998. New standard features on the Limited include power locks/windows and cruise control.

Toyota Trucks Don't Break

Review: I'm currently driving my third Toyota truck. That probably says it all.

The first was a 1986. The second was a 1992. This one's a 1998. I traded in the first after 150,000 miles, and the second after 250,000 miles.

The Bottom Line: The finest and most reliable truck money can buy. It was good enough for the Taliban's mountain missions, but it may not be good for you!

The Bottom Line: Not a pick-up for families, long commutes or frequent four-wheel driving. Good for a single person or couple for camping trips and other recreational activities.
Review: I have always loved Toyota products. Both their stylish looks and their dependability have kept me coming back to them over the years. I've owned a Celica, 4Runner and now this Tacoma pick-up. I must say this truck has disappointed me.
