Product Description

 
The second generation Supra, or MKII, with a 2.8-liter Double-Overhead-Cam (DOHC) inline 6-cylinder engine (the 5M-GE). The engine develops 145 horsepower and launched the Supra as a performance leader.The Supra still shared its basic chassis design with the more plebian Celica although Toyota added numerous styling and mechanical changes to further differentiate the two models. The most distinctive Supra identification was the front styling with distinctive disappearing headlamps, long power bulge hood and slit grill with integrated driving lights. Additional styling cues included wheel flares, roof-mounted spoiler, and exterior paint schemes. On the mechanical side the Supra has four wheel disc brakes and an independent rear suspension.

It Owns Honda Civics

The Bottom Line: I would recommend the celica to anyone looking for cheap transportation with some fun, and as a second car or project car as well.
Review: This review is for the 1985 Toyota Celica GT. It has a 22r-e 2.4L 4 cylinder compared to a 5m-ge 2.8L 6 cylinder in the Celica supra, and a solid rear axle, instead of IRS in the Celica supra. Otherwise, the cars are similar.

Fast & Furious it isn't, but a great car for everything but racing.

1985 Supra --- terrific all-time guy car

The Bottom Line: If you love the sound of a great, great engine, and love to drive, an 85 Supra screamer is very hard to beat, all time. Testosterone required.
Review: I have owned a number of Supras from 1979 up to 1988. The '79 was a great, great, fun car for its time. The 1988 Turbo (A/T) was just a speeding ticket waiting to happen. I could not keep it under 90 on the highway -- if you blink in that car you...
