A Ripoff... Kinda

The Bottom Line: This is a good weekend read, and has great writing and fun characters. Be prepared to notice a lot of Tolkien influence.
Review: I love the Sword of Shannara trilogy. I need to qualify that statement. However, let me point out that if you compare the storyline to that of Lord of the Rings, you will find that it is almost a direct parallel.

Best Fantasy Trilogy Since LOTR

The Bottom Line: I would definetely recommend this book and all of Terry Brooks works.
Review: The Sword of Shannara...what can I say, in the first half of the book it is very similar to Lord of the Rings, but get half way through it and you will see the story change to show the brilliance of Terry Brooks' writing.
