The Bottom Line: A stunning sequel that leaves us with a cliffhanger--no problem for me, I've already started the next (and last) book!

The Bottom Line: You'll find even richer, more complex development of the characters that were first introduced in Pullman's The Golden Compass, plus additional new characters to love and despise.

What's So Subtle About A Knife?

The Bottom Line: I highly recommend reading Pullman's trilogy. The Subtle Knife needs The Golden Compass to be understood. It is a fascinating tale and easily captures and intrigues you.
