With the Sony SLV-R1000 you will be able to enjoy old and new videos without worry about whether or not the VCR will support the age of the tape. Its Adaptive Picture Control tests each tape and adjusts recording parameters for best performance. It also adjusts playback for ideal balance of picture sharpness and low video "noise". Its video system featuring 4 Dual Azimuth/Crystal Clear heads optimizes playback picture quality and enables freeze frame, frame advance and picture search. This VCR also features Flying Erase head for glitch-free editing with A/V dubbing. Built-In MTS stereo tuner allows you to receive stereo broadcasts. Rapid Access Tape Transport System delivers fast access to the video image and a reduction in response time between functions. VCR Plus+ makes timer programming as easy as dialing a phone number. Sony's Cable Mouse infrared remote repeater lets the VCR control channel selection on most cable boxes and permits timer recording of more than one scrambled cable channel in sequence... Minimize

Can't go wrong with a Sony...

Pros: Excellent Picture, Cool Design, lots of outputs

Cons: Very Expensive

Review: I originally bought the SLV-R1000 because I was doing video editing and needed the S-video output. This is a nice unit but it's very pricey in todays VCR market. I doubt that this machine is for everyone there really isn't too much this can do that a...
