Super small mini DV VCR has a 4 inch LCD display

Pros: small, easy to use, high quality, full featured, superior image, one of a kind device
Cons: expensive, device has no handle, poor documentation (format, "dock" feature not explained), vulnerable to water
The Bottom Line: Choose this if you are looking for a portable miniDV VCR that has a LCD screen, firewire, USB, and Memory Stick outputs. Pricey but one of kind

Nice device, but poor support

Pros: Great machine, while it worked. The analog pass-through is handy.
Cons: Sony support is not stellar. No place to get it repaired (at least in Indiana).
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I bought the GV-D1000 to use as a spooler for non-linear editing, and it worked fine for about a year. Then I made the mistake of changing tapes in the middle of a capturing session, which apparently greatly offended the Sony's firmware. The machine...
