It also trades the original version of "Black and Blue" for a rawer version recorded at the band's first session. While this album not the best bet for fans of the band's later material, this is an essential document of Soul Asylum's development. Most of the songs on this collection are loud high-speed rockers or punk numbers that feature sparsely worded choruses and fast, sloppy playing. "Money Talks" and "Stranger" are two exceptions. The former is a rolling folk/rock hybrid, while the latter is a Dave Pirner country experiment that boasts a saxo... Minimize
