HDMI output allows you to upscale standard definition sources to 1080i or 720p. A convenient DV input lets you connect a digital camcorder directly to the player for editing and dubbing your home videos directly to VHS or DVD.

Review: I was able to get it to record, but it took a few hours to understand the setup. Once I did however, it recorded from VCR to DVD just fine. (Word of the wise, if you intend to copy protected VCR tapes to DVD (such as Disney), forget it). This WILL...

Samsung DVD-VR357 Tunerless DVD Recorder and VCR Combo. This is a great unit. It records DVDs to VHS tape or dubs VHS tape to DVD. It has mulit-format capability, meaning it can record on any DVD format, such as DVD - R or DVD,R or DVD - RW. It also has the capability to record dual layer DVD discs which doubles your record time up to 8.6 GB or in real time about 14 hours of record time in EP mode, (Extra Play) time. Great unit.
