All have a turbo 4-cyl engine: Base has 185 hp, SE 205, Viggen 230. Viggens come only with 5-speed manual transmission; other models offer optional automatic. Traction control new standard feature, joins antilock 4-wheel disc brakes, front side airbags, and front head restraints designed to minimize whiplash injury. Convertible power top has heated glass window. General Motors owns this Swedish automaker, and GMs OnStar assistance system is standard; includes voice-activated phone, e-mail, and Internet connection. OnStar is free for first 12 months. Solid, comfortable and fast

Pros: Comfortable seats, versatile interior, good looks, LOTS of power, great on gas.
Cons: Quirky switches for lights and wipers take some getting used to.
The Bottom Line: If you want a comfortable, reliable, powerful car that is versatile and good on gas, this is a great car, especially if you like something that everybody else isn't driving.
Review: I have driven my 9-3 for over 55,000 miles in the 18 months I've owned it and the car still amazes me.

A Fun Ride

Pros: Handling, interior, Fun to Drive
Cons: No driver's side armrest, rear seat room
The Bottom Line: A fun ride that is certainly competitive with other cars in its class. At the very least, take it for a test drive and see what you think.
