The good and the bad of claiming "a room of one's own."

Pros: A group of very influential essays.
Cons: Since they are adapted from lectures, they aren't the most thorough studies.
The Bottom Line: The book is very readable, and the insights are strong. Morrison is better with close textual readings; her more overreaching conclusions seemed, to me, a bit of an academic "stretch."
