Featuring 7.168 Mbps transmission speed, IP Rate Adaptive DSL (RADSL) technology, and integrated MAC learning bridge capabilities, the Hotwire 5246 powerfully supports high-bandwidth applications for multi-user sites with 32 users.??The Hotwire 5246 Bridge learns the MAC addresses of the LAN users and isolates that traffic from the DSL link. Source and destination Ethernet addresses are used to filter packets off the DSL connection; therefore, the DSL link is efficiently used for WAN connectivity only. Security issues are also addressed by confining all sensitive corporate data to the local network. Data travels onto the DSL link only when specifically requested to do so.
