the compact PV-GS12 was designed to simplify camcorder operation for the video novice and professional videographer alike. Of course, the new models are video cameras first and foremost, and are well appointed with features to produce sharp digital recordings. For example, the image-enhancing MagicPix feature allows for rich videos under low-light conditions. Digital Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) helps take the jitter out of hand-held video recording and compensate for unintentional hand and camcorder movement.

Not as advertised, but not that bad

The Bottom Line: I recomend paying a little more, for better quality. I returned mine for a JVC, which is an all around better camera, for only $3 more (after rebate).
Review: The Panasonic PV-GS12 is a very nice looking little camera. It fit perfectly into my hand and all the controls were easy to operate single handedly.
The camera is very small and lightweight and the LCD is clear.

The Bottom Line: I recommend the PV-GS12 to anyone who hasn't a lot of money to throw around but needs an intelligent, yet easy-to-use video camera that can be carried around (almost) anywhere.

Short-lived Piece of Junk

Review: Wish I spent $50 more for the comparable Sony. After a year of light usage, it is constantly requiring one to hit the Reset button to start. If you don't, it will not shut off unless you pull the battery.
