A true breakthrough in digital camera craftsmanship, the 5-megapixel DMC-LC1 brings a traditional photographic experience to the digital world, evoking the look, feel, precision, and responsiveness of a 35mm camera. Zoom, focus and aperture are manually controlled by ring settings on the lens; shutter speed is controlled by a dial located on the top of the unit. And, like all of Panasonic's Lumix models, the DMC-LC1 features a high-performance Leica lens for extraordinary image rendering.

LC1 A Leica for the people

The Bottom Line: Great and flexible camera, retro looks, excellent optics and manual controls. If you can live w/o Leica branding, the LC1 will save you serious $$$.
Review: I've been using digital camera for 3-4 years now, and nothing has struck me as a 'must have' until the LC1 was introduced in early 2004. This is a prosumer 5-megapixel, fixed lens digital camera, with manual zoom.

Review: The finest camera i've used in a long time...I'm a pro photographer working with Phase One digi backs which give up to 90MB files, this Panasonic DMC-LC1 give me 28MB files that are just as good. Pictures up to A3 are no differant to the Phase One...
