PV-DV800 is a new Digital Palmcorder Camcorder from Panasonic designed to appeal to everyone from novices to accomplished videographers. ??PV-DV800 produces video recordings with highly accurate color and crisp, clear resolution - far better than the resolution offered by a live television broadcast. Video footage is recorded on a mini DV cassette, providing clean, detailed video images and CD-quality audio on a tape that is 1/12th the size of a standard VHS tape. A mini DV cassette boasts a storage capacity equivalent to 8, 700 floppy disks. An 80-minute DV tape, when used in the LP mode, can hold up to two hours of recorded material. Captured digital still photos can be viewed in advance on the camcorders' LCD monitors, and deleted if desired to free up memory for new shots. ??A WideSight 3.5-inch (diagonal) color LCD monitor allows for easy viewing from any angle. An 8MB MultiMediaCard lets users save captured digital still images - up to 240 photos in the Normal mode - to view on a television or to dow...

Panasonic PV-DV800 Digital Palmcorder: The No-Frills Camcorder

The Bottom Line: Although, it's a little bulky and missing a packed-in remote, The Panasonic PV-DV800 ism still a good buy. I recommend it to anyone looking for a lower-end digital camera.
Review: Consider it the base model of digital camcorders, like a Chevy Cavalier or Honda Civic. It?s fun, sturdy, dependable and relatively inexpensive, but don?t hurt yourself looking for the extras; they aren?t there.

Review: The Panasonic PV DV-800 camcorder model is the top Panasonic digital mini-DV year-2000 model. There are parts of the design which I do NOT like, and I will start with those. These are likely applicable to the PV-DV100, 200, 400 and 600, as well.

Excellent DV camcorder for the professional-novice

The Bottom Line: I highly recommend it. It's design, reliability, ease of use, picture quality, features and price are the very reasons that this camera is an excellent product.
