Exclusively designed for use with the Olympus digital cameras, this external flash unit combines power and versatile performance in a very compact, stylish form. With a high max. guide number of 20, the FL-20 ensures effective illumination while the manual, normal auto and auto TTL control modes allow the user the choice between full creativity or worry-free automatic operation. The FL-20 flash is a small and lightweight external flash that can be placed directly on the hot shoe of a camera with a hot shoe, or used via FL-CB01 with the FL-BK01 bracket. Minimize

Not good for DSLRs even if "compatible"

Pros: Size, simple operation

Cons: Disables on-camera auto-focus, no AF assist light, fixed position, not very powerful

The Bottom Line: Might be good for some non-DSLRs with weak or broken flashes, but most Olympus DSLRs would be hindered by this flash.

Review: I bought the FL-20 to use with both my Olympus E-500 and SP-350. I wanted something that would work with the SP-350 but not be absurdly large on it—as it is a very small camera. Unfortunately the FL-20 is not very useful on the E-500. The problem is ...
