Pros: can be hooked up to a television; portability, a plethora of features
Cons: some DVDs may crack in the center if you press to hard
The Bottom Line: Despite a few shortcomings, still a recommendable product, especially if you're new to the DVD player

If by portable you mean attached to a cord

Pros: Portable, can be connected to a TV, plays CD, photodisk and other formats
Cons: Battery life is short, bad colors on LCD, bad sound

The unit can be connected to your TV via a composite video jack. For videophiles, that's low quality video right there.
