The ScanMaker 4800 is an entirely new, slim-design scanner with great image quality and scanning features from a 20-year veteran of digital imaging. Microtek's EDGE design retains all of the image quality associated with CCD scanners in a 25% smaller scanner. This scanner has integrated OCR, color copy, 35mm slide and negative filmstrip scanning - the best value in 1200-dpi scanning today.

The Bottom Line: Good budget scanner, it's not a professional scanner, and isn't intended as such, so don't expect one. Reliability may be questionable.
Review: I've used a lot of scanners in my life. I used to sell them too while I was a consultant to professional imaging/prepress companies.
