The Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 is a great headset for a great price.

I don't have any speakers hooked up to my computer and I use Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 to get the sound from my computer to my ears. The sound quality is really good and the mic quality is also good. It connect to your computer via usp and it comes with a little controll panel. You can use the control panel set the volume up or down, mute the mic and bring up a calling program. Pros: Sound Quality, Mic Quality
