It is a luxury sport-utility vehicle that joins the lineup alongside the 5-passenger M-Class and the legendary G-Class SUVs. With steel uni-body construction, the GL-Class is 200 inches long and is produced in the same Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, AL where the M-Class and R-Class are produced.

GL 550: Most Assuredly Not an Escalade

The Bottom Line: If you don't mind the Gangsta look, a better car than the GL450's dowdy, yesteryear styling. With this car, in every way, too much is never enough.
Review: First, and though I'd prefer otherwise, it is difficult to remember that it is a car, not a chapel. Buying something like this requires effort to recall that one has not conquered Everest, written a novel, or in fact done anything at all worth...

The Bottom Line: Highly recommend this car. I test drove Lexus GX, Toyota Land Cruiser, BMWX5. GL was best combination of ride, comfort, price and best gas mileage rating.
Review: I have had my GL for 4 months and have just over 10k miles. It has turned out to be everything I expected. Great acceleration (some of my passengers are startled with the quickness when I get on the highway), comfortable, sure footed in snow...
