Highly visible and you can hear it!

The Bottom Line: This is a great unit for the price, and has just about everything needed by the normal driver: Good visibility and sound!
Review: Every car should have a GPS. I've tried several and have found the Magellan to have the best visibility and the loudest, clearest voice instructions.

I picked up the 1400 on sale for $115 at a Radio Shack Store (of all places) - and also...

Do you get lost a lot? Can't read a map well? Buy this and you'll get anywhere. Some negatives:1 - some pronunciations of places are off2 - very rarely you'll get glitches that send you in circles3 - shortest time/distance is not always short - it doesn't know shortcutsSound quality is great. Sometimes it doesn't give too much warning before a turn. Great for finding places - restaurants, stores, etc. Easy to program and you can pre-program places you visit often.GO BUY IT Pros: perfect for modern drivers, easily set up, car charger Cons: some pronunciations of places are off, shortest time/distance is not always short, very rarely you'll get glitches that send you in circles
