After a colaps of my Triton 200 europe Magellan did sent my the 500 without map. After contact with Magellan they sent my a link for down-loading a europe map, but it is a water-map and no walking map. Now Magellan don't support the europe market...

Magellan 500 GPS Missing the Trajectory

Pros: Interface is nice and the unit is light and compact.

Cons: Very incompatible with my PC (Windows XP Pro) and downloading maps is a chore.

The Bottom Line: Don't bother with Magellan, stick with Garmin and spend the extra $$. The Triton is not worth the headache.

Review: First I bought the 300 model but had so many problems linking it to my XP desktop, that I upgraded to the 500. The interface is great but the unit itself is a waste. When I fire up the system, it shows me that I'm in San Dimas, CA. Well, I live in Bend, ...

Pros: Small size and that's the only good thing I can say.

Cons: Poor tech. support, lousy product, buy anything but Magellan. Don't waste your money!!
