Product Description

Static-X: Wayne Static (vocals, guitar, keyboards, programming); Tripp Eisen (guitar); Tony Campos (bass, background vocals); Ken Jay (drums). Recorded at Studio 508, Los Angeles, California from October 2000-January 2001. Personnel: Wayne Static (vocals, guitar, keyboards, programming); Ulrich Wild (keyboards, programming). Audio Mixers: James McCrone; Ulrich Wild. Recording information: Studio 508, Los Angeles, CA (10/2000-01/2001). Photographer: James Minchin. Despite the amicable departure of guitarist Koichi Fukuda, former Dope axe- wielder Tripp Eisen does a fine job fitting in alongside founding members Wayne Static, Keny Jay, and Tony Campos. Working on the gloom and doom side of the tracks, Static-X keep things interesting with the kind of controlled chaos that makes for an interesting exercise...

The Machine is keeping us down

Date of Review:  May 23, 2001
The Bottom Line: Nu-metal fans already own this or will very soon. If you have their 1999 debut, then you've heard this record but so what? It rocks and I like it.
Review: If the death troopers that invaded Poland just over a sixty years ago had a theme song I imagine it'd sound something like the intro to Structural Defect. The marching downtuned guitar builds with intensity every four measures adding another guitar...

Static-X: El Machina

Date of Review:  May 23, 2001
The Bottom Line: Not as Good as Wisconsin Death Trip but Still Manages to Rock The House
Review:

Static-X are no longer freshman in the metal scene, they proudly graduate their ?new? status with their sophomore effort known as ?Machine??like every Static-X release I ran out and grabbed this one right when the stockers were opening the...

"You are no longer a part of this Machine. . ."

Date of Review:  Sep 10, 2003
The Bottom Line: Definitely an improvement upon the band's industrial/metal sound -- worth checking out for any interested in the genre.
Review: When Static-X debuted in 1999 with Wisconsin Death Trip, they were immediately noteworthy for a loud industrial-metal sound with completely unique vocal stylings, but they failed to craft a record that lived up to the potential of that calling. For...
