Pros: Cast changes handled well, fine writing
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: M*A*S*H is known today as one of the best TV shows of any genre ever; this season of transition shows why.

Big cast changes and less slapstick

Pros: I liked it when the series became more serious and the characters more three-dimensional.
Cons: A bit too much Alan Alda, at times.
The Bottom Line: As the series progressed, cast changes signaled a change in mood toward the more serious.
