This thing is garbage!

Pros: The user interface is nice, and the joystick scrolling is very handy.
Cons: Please read body of main review. Won't hold satellite lock.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy the Cobra GPS 500, unless you live in the middle of a wide open field! It will not perform up to usual GPS standards.

Pros: Great price Very durable Easy to use
Cons: Maybe too basic for very advanced GPS users (driving directions?)

Pros: Low price, heavy-duty appearance
Cons: Couldn't find satellites, often dropped connections, user interface is clunky.

Review: The GPS 500 had a great deal of trouble locking on to satellites, even in open fields. I often lost contact. In addition, the screen resolution was too low to use the map function. Comparing its readings with friends GPS units (Magellan, Garmin),...
