Product Description

A star-studded cast provides the voices for the prehistoric creatures in this computer-animated feature set 20,000 years ago as the Ice Age approaches. Seemingly anti-social Manny, a woolly mammoth (voiced by Ray Romano), acts as if he just wants to be left alone. When he meets Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo), a sloth, the two become unlikely traveling companions. The plot thickens when the duo finds a human infant and decides to try to return the child to its "herd." Manny slowly but surely reveals his heart of gold, while Sid continues to provide comic relief. Diego (voiced by Denis Leary), a saber-tooth tiger with ulterior motives, soon joins them in their search for the humans. Ultimately, this group of misfits becomes its own herd, learning about friendship and loyalty as they brave snow, ice, freezing temperatures, predators, hail, and even boiling lava pits. Ice Age: Violent Family Movie?

Date of Review:  Mar 16, 2002
The Bottom Line: Kids will enjoy it. They'll learn about humor, but they'll see malicious violence. They'll learn about teamwork, but they'll see death occur on screen.
Review: I love watching these films that are wonderfully animated. I like the 3d effect, and I think the technology is at a tremendous level. I really enjoyed Monsters Inc., Shrek, and Toy Story 1 and 2, so you can see why I was dying to see Ice Age. I...

The Bottom Line: Ice Age is a funny, entertaining movie the whole family will enjoy.
Review: Ice Age is the third animated movie made by Fox. I had seen previews for the movie for a long time and thought it looked cute. I did want to see it, but I wasn’t in a big hurry. I recently got Anastasia on DVD, the first animated movie by Fox, and...
