IBM eServer BladeCenter 73P6100 Expansion Module

This I/O option is an unswitched/unblocked bidirectional copper connection to each blade server and delivers additional flexibility in data center network architectures. The IBM eServer BladeCenter chassis (86773XX) supports installation of I/O modules that enable it to communicate with external resources. This module option provides an unconfigured network connection that enables the blade servers in the BladeCenter chassis to connect to an existing network infrastructure. No configuration of the copper pass-thru module is required. It provides an attractive, cost-saving solution to handle typical enterprise and Internet applications such as compute intensive, transaction processing, collaboration applications (MS Exchange, Citrix, and Lotus Notes), server consolidation, Internet or intranet serving, and Web commerce serving.
