Product Description

U2: The Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen, Jr., Bono . Personnel: Bono (vocals, guitar, background vocals); The Edge (guitar, piano, keyboards, synthesizer, percussion, background vocals); Daniel Lanois (mandolin, shaker); Carl Glanville (synthesizer, percussion); Jacknife Lee (synthesizer, programming); Adam Clayton (bass guitar); Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums, percussion, background vocals); Fabien Waltman (programming). Audio Mixers: Chris Lillywhite; Flood; Greg Collins ; Nellee Hooper; Simon Gogerly; Simon Osborne; Carl Glanville. Recording information: HQ; South Of France. Photographers: Joe Edwards; Anton Corbijn. Much in the manner of their previous album, ALL THAT YOU CAN'T LEAVE BEHIND, U2 largely strips down the stadium-sized approach of years past on the provocatively titled HOW TO DISMANTLE AN ATOMIC BOMB. Date of Review:  Nov 17, 2004
The Bottom Line: How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb? Dr. Strangelove says stop worrying and love it.
Review: There are bands out there that you hear about all the time, but you know jack about them. For some people, that band might be Radiohead, for others it might be the Dave Matthews Band. For me, it's U2.

The only album I've heard in its...

Just Screw It! How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb is the Worst U2 Album Ever.

Date of Review:  Nov 24, 2004
The Bottom Line: In which the author catches an unnerving case of the blahs.
Review: It's the soundtrack for a faceless guy in sunglasses and neon blue spandex surfboarding down some impossible slope. It's the soundtrack for monster truck races at the local redneck pavilion, the soundtrack for men out-testosteroning each other in...

"don't look before you laugh/ look ugly in a photograph"

Date of Review:  Dec 11, 2004
The Bottom Line: Atomic Bomb might not be U2's most technically proficient album, but it's so un-ironic and heartfelt and beautiful that an awkward lyric or two can't knock it down a peg.
Review:
I'm assuming that, mere weeks after the release of U2's latest long-player, dropping a traditional, dissecting review of How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb would be fairly pointless. At the time of this writing, twenty folks----at least half of...
