Though it is considered a commercial cleaner and can be used as such, the Hoover C3820 SteamVac is the ideal carpet cleaner for homes with kids, pets and dirty carpets. It is more ruggedly built than domestically built machines and is designed to take punishment the domestic cleaners cant handle.The C3820 has no faucet hookup to deal with. The solution tank easily snaps into place making the cleaner ready to go instantly. It deep cleans carpet fibers by applying hot tap water and cleaning solution. It cleans both forward and reverse and because it is an extractor, it vacuums up all solution from your floors leaving carpets clean and fresh with minimal drying time.

Pros: Longer, larger gauge cord than residential ones.

Cons: Less features, gimmick "Commercial" naming, more money.

The Bottom Line: Unless Hoover uses a heavier grade plastic, a different motor, a stronger grade brush, they shouldn't call it "Commercial".
