This unit can be pricey but does the job

Review: I needed a unit to humidify the air and I needed it in a hurry. No time to comparison shop, so I got it at a drug store chain and got ripped off .. paid 69 bucks when it can be had for as little as 45.

Review: I bought my vicks cool mist jan 1, 2008 and today is jan 31, 2008. I love my cool mist. my sinus problems disappeared for both myself and my husband using it only in the bedroom. Love the results!!! Unfortunatly, the gas furnace started making noise...

Ultrasonic humidifier by Vicks works perfectly.

We use this humidifier in our sons room to maintain a higher humudity during the dry winter months. He has mild asthma and thus is more sensitive to dry air. We use this almost every day from November through April and it has never failed us. A really nice feature is that this is ultrasonic and thus doesn't need any sort of filter. This is nice because finding filters for humidifiers is sometimes tough if models change. This is nearly silent and provide ample use for about 2 days of use between fillings. Pros: Quiet, Good humidifying for a small to medium room Cons: Would like an automatic timer on it to turn off after so many hours.

Breathe and sleep easy with this super-quiet humidifier. This model purifies water and converts it into a soothing plume of vapor. The unit is shaped like a coffee maker, has a 10-by-6-inch footprint, and stands 1 foot tall. Clear blue plastic allows you to see how much water remains in the 1.5-gallon, 20-hour tank. A variable control provides fine-tuning of mist output, and the dial on the lid allows you to direct the mist (away from curtains or bedding, for example). Even at a blast the sound is still barely audible. This tank lies flat for easy filling, but might be a bit hard to reach into for cleaning. Still, the replaceable filter strains impurities out of the water, leaving the air clean. Pop open the lid--on this cartridge you'll find a phone number for ordering replacements.
