Pros: room, economy, comfort, build quality, amenities, safety

Cons: road noise, power, bland handling

The Bottom Line: For a guy who sneers at those super-tankers out there on the road, I sure like my new mini-SUV (even though it's really a glorified station wagon)!

Designed for how people actually use SUVs

Pros: Utility, comfort, fuel economy, refinement, nimble handling, quieter than competition

Cons: Just adequate power, bland styling

The Bottom Line: Nothing racy or luxurious, but about as sensible as an SUV gets. If "functional competence" is your thing, you'll love the new CR-V.
