Product Description

Smashing Pumpkins: Billy Corgan (vocals); James Iha (guitar); D'arcy (bass, background vocals); Jimmy Chamberlin (drums). Recorded at Smart Studios, Madison, Wisconsin. Personnel: Billy Corgan (vocals, guitar); D'Arcy (vocals); James Iha (guitar); Jimmy Chamberlain, Jimmy Chamberlin (drums). Recording information: Smart Studios, Madison, WI (12/1990-03/1991). Photographers: Bob Knapp; Michael Lavine. Gish: The Words Really Aren't Important

Date of Review:  Jan 20, 2004
The Bottom Line: Like Smashing Pumpkins? Consider yourself a semi-fan? Then Gish is worth checking out. Maybe not the place to start, but a fine enough place to end up.
Review: Wielding an irrepressible gift for melody and arrangement, Billy Corgan burst on to the rock scene with 1991's Gish. Of course there were other players in the success of Smashing Pumpkins, but it was always Corgan who drove the Chicago-based...

The Pumpkins come out of mother rock's uterus and into the light

Date of Review:  Jan 18, 2005
The Bottom Line: For those who loved the Pumpkins' first two albums, here is an essential purchase
Review: While most famous for the two alternative classics, 1993's Siamese Dream and 1995's double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, the Smashing Pumpkins beyond the 1995 release are somewhat over looked. The flare that truly made them special,...

The Road To Total Domination

Date of Review:  Nov 3, 2001
The Bottom Line: A must have for any Pumpkin fan, especially if you liked Siamese Dream and are looking for something rawer and heavier. Anyone who enjoys early 90's alt-rock will like this.
Review: Steps for musical domination:

1. Form a band
2. Sign on to a indie record label
3. Release album
4. Switch to major label
5. Headline a major music festival
6. Release album(s), one of which must be a double album...
