Seeking Refuge Where There Was None

Silent Victims Of War - The Children!

The Bottom Line: A mesmerizing recounting of one family's escape from the Red Army in war-torn Germany. A different perspective of the ugliness of war, as seen through a child's eyes.
Review: It was merely by accident that I stumbled across this book which immediately caught my attention, first with its title, and then with its cover, showing the black and white image of a young boy sitting on a mine, licking an ice cream cone.

Five Years of Courage, Bravery and Fortitude

The Bottom Line: I recommend this book for any person interested in history. A good account of what children suffer because of war and it's aftermath.
Review: My thanks to Whalewatcher?s review, which gave me the desire to order this book for my husbands World War II collection. Her review was excellent and I suggest you read her version with her personal accounts of this well written book called GERMAN...
