Great cook-top, except for noise

Pros: strong BTU's, ample cooking space, beautiful contemporary design.
Cons: Humming sound and brass tarnish.
Review: I too noticed the noise which is a very low grade hum. Most people probably wouldn't notice it. In fact I only noticed the noise after using the cook-top for a year. I decided I can live with the humming but what bothers me the most is how to restore ...
